Miss World South Africa 2020 announced

 24 year old Shudufhadzo Musida was crowned Miss South Africa on 20th October at The Table Bay Hotel, Cape Town. The 62nd addition of the grand finale was broadcast live on M-Net and Mzansi Magic.

Shudufhadzo hails from Ha-Masia in Limpopo and is the first winner from the province to win Miss South Africa. She has a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Philosophy, Politics and Economics and is currently doing her BA Honours in International Relations at the University of Witwatersrand.

Shudufhadzo is very passionate about mental health and a strong advocate for female empowerment and child literacy. She has vowed to raise awareness of mental health especially in rural and disadvantaged areas as she believes people need to work on their minds before they change anything else. 

Shudufhadzo said: “I plan to mobilise various stakeholders and the nation so we can bring about educational empowerment through the tackling of issues such as period poverty among young girls, workshops that teach children about the importance of mental health from a young age, and mentorship programmes for young women so they can be empowered to be agents of their own future.”

On being crowned Miss World South Africa 2020 Shudufhadzo said: "I am so excited to be going to Miss World, particularly as it celebrates a milestone anniversary, and following in the footsteps of those who have gone before me. It is an amazing opportunity and I can't wait to represent this country and have the words 'South Africa' blazoned across my chest. I want to do South Africa proud!"

Will she follow in the steps of Miss World 2014, Rolene Strauss and bag another Miss World title for South Africa?
