Untact Face of Asia 2020 in Seoul

The world’s very first virtual modelling festival “Untact Face of Asia 2020 in Seoul” will be hosted by the Asia Model Festival Organizing Committee (AMFOC). The event will kick off on 15 September 2020 with 80 models from 28 Asian countries starting their first mission online. The shortlisted models will join the 100-day survival competition to become Asia’s top model.

The online event will be sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Seoul city and Seoul Tourism Organization.

In order to show off the beauty and get a chance to brand themselves as model influencers, the contestants all over the world who have passed preliminary rounds will have to utilize online video content. Online voting will be held for global fans to support their favourite models and take part in the world’s very first virtual model festival.

Yang Eui Sig, the president of AMFOC believes that the pandemic has affected the fashion industry and recent ‘untact’ trend-led them to make new changes in how they reach out to people. “We will become a global model festival that further evolves through contents out of numerous platforms,” he adds.

On 4 December 2020, the winner will be selected at the final round live on air. This year’s top model will be awarded 100 million won.

The Asia Model Festival, the Asia’s largest celebrity model search project, has been held for 15 years since 2006. “Face of Asia,” the first event of the “Asia Model Festival” and “Asia Model Awards,” boasts its global influence to have found models-turned-actors like Ahn Jae-hyun, Lee Tae-hwan, and Joo Won-dae and more, who are well-known models in South Korea as in foreign countries.

Models from 28 Asian countries, including South Korea, Singapore, India, Mongolia, Nepal, Japan, China, Kazakhstan, Cambodia, Manila, Indonesia, and Uzbekistan, take part in this year’s “Untact Face of Asia 2020 in Seoul”.
